I am an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Vejle. I am currently on leave from my associate professorship at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil. At SDU, I teach Software Engineering courses.
In Brazil, I previously taught Software Engineering and Distributed Programming, served as one of the leaders of the IntelAgir research group, and worked on multiple research and innovation projects. I remain a Permanent Professor in the PPGCA Master’s Program at UTFPR in Curitiba, where I continue to collaborate remotely.
I hold a Ph.D. in Software Engineering from IMT Atlantique in Nantes, France, and have gained extensive international experience through postdoctoral research positions in Amsterdam (S2 Group, VU Amsterdam), Stuttgart (ICM, University of Stuttgart), and Porto (INESC TEC, University of Porto).
My research focuses on sustainable software engineering applied to cyber-physical systems, including robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT), on the age of AI. In robotics, I am particularly interested in projects based on the Robot Operating System (ROS).
My interests particularly lay in:
- Software Engineering: Software Architecture, Software Sustainability, Open-source Software Collaboration
- Artificial Intelligence: Explainable AI, AI for Software Engineering, AI for Robotics, Green / Sustainable / Ethical AI
- Robotics: Robotics Software, ROS Ecosystem, Energy-Efficient Robotics, Adaptive Robotics Software, Explainable Robotics
